01PLOT

Zach, the "fifth Turtle" and his brother Walt visit the Ninja Turtles. As they leave, Walt takes a map that could guide Shredder to the lair... if it happens to fall into the wrong hands. Bebop and Rocksteady find out about the map by eavesdropping on Zach and Walt.

Shredder, Bebop and Rocksteady pursue Zach and Walt through a Science Fair. Walt tries to look for a place to hide the map. Meanwhile, Zach gets captured by Shredder and gets taken to the Technodrome. Walt tries to find the Turtles to inform them of what has happened to his brother.

April is broadcasting from the Science Fair and notifies the Turtles that Walt was seen being chased by Shredder through the Fair. The Turtles set out to find them and on the way they run into Walt who is fleeing from Shredder.

Back at the Technodrome, Zach is driving Krang crazy. He is playing with all the buttons on the console. The Turtles find out where Zach is and rescue him, making Krang very happy.

Now, they have to go back to the Science Fair and get the map back. Shredder, Bebop and Rocksteady follow them there. They almost get their hands on it, but, the Turtles are quicker. The map gets returned to the lair and once again, Krang and Shredder have lost.

05NOTES & GOOFS

  • When Walt was running across the park full of people, the close-up shot showed him with his t-shirt coloured beige.
  • In the opening shot of Krang readying the Thought Extractor, Rocksteady's strap and bandolier are colored grey. This would occur again when he stands over the trap door in the Technodrome, and when Zach slid past the doorway as he headed towards the lava, and when he and Bebop fire at the Turtles when they to retain the map from the cannon's mouth.
  • When the Turtles search for Zach in the sewers, Raphael speaks in Leonardo's voice.
  • When Rocksteady fires at the Turtles, the red tip on his stun-laser rifle and his shoulder strap are missing.
  • When Bebop and Rocksteady shoot their lasers at the Turtles, the drill top of the module is missing.
  • Leonardo was seen with Michelangelo's colors when he released the large balloon to ride on.
  • When Walt covered Rocksteady in mint foam, his dagger was untouched by the mint foam.
  • Leonardo's Turtlecom looks like April's version when she contacts him.
  • The Foot Clan logo on the second Technorover that Zach controlled was mirror flipped when it launched it's missiles.
  • Shredder has once again forgotten the location of the Turtle lair, even though he's been there before.
  • The colors on Rocksteady's stun-laser rifle were switched when he dropped it after Walt covered in mint foam.
  • Rocksteady was drawn mirror-flipped when as he and Bebop were loaded into the giant washing machine.
  • The Technodrome was missing it's eyeball when it descended towards the lava.
  • Bebop's bandolier is colored brown in various parts of the episode.
  • When Bebop and Rocksteady pin Zach to the ground at the theatre, half of Rocksteady's shoulder strap is missing.
  • Shredder's left armpit was colored grey when he let Walt go at the park.

06TRIVIA

  • It is revealed that the Turtles used to get lost in the sewers, something that Raphael finds humiliating.
  • Somehow the Turtles have a picture of themselves as ordinary turtles. Perhaps the Turtles had a previous encounter with the boy who bought them (or maybe Splinter somehow managed to photograph them before they mutated).
  • First episode where Krang uses a device to extract information from his victim's minds, the same practice would be used again on Buffy Shellhammer in "Poor Little Rich Turtle".
  • Whilst patrolling the sewers, looking for Zach, Raphael remarks that he and the other Turtles don't know the exact location of the Technodrome at the Earth's Core, despite travelling there in "Attack of Big MACC".
  • Bebop claims that there are 972 rooms in the Technodrome.
  • This was the last episode of the Japanese NHK2 dub.
