01PLOT

The Technodrome is low on power once again, to the point where Shredder must use candles to light his way. But they catch a glimpse of one of April O'Neil's news broadcasts about a state-of-the-art nuclear sub, which they can use to repower the Technodrome. Two Foot Soldiers are sent to drain the energy and direct it straight down.

Meanwhile, the Turtles are waiting for Donatello to repair the TV set when April invites them to come watch movies with her and Irma.

Shredder and Krang anticipate their plans will be interfered with by the Turtles, so Krang debuts his newest innovation: a potion that will make them fall madly in love with the first woman they see, and cause them to be too jealous to effectively fight their enemies.

The Turtles stop at a pizzeria to get some food, not realizing that Rocksteady and Bebop have already dosed the pizzas. Donatello doesn't eat any because he's driving, which turns out to be a good thing because his brothers are feeling strange by the time they arrive. When Irma comes out to greet them, Raphael, Michelangelo and Leonardo are all mesmerized by her. They rush out of the Turtle Van to buy presents for, leaving a bewildered Donatello wondering what's going on.

At Channel 6, Irma starts receiving presents from "Your Devoted Admirer," "Your Secret Love" and "Your Hang-Ten Honeybunch." She believes that her suitors are naval men, since the Turtles happened to be wearing sailor suits before.

April arrives at the nuclear sub and asks the Turtles for their help, but Donatello is the only one who picks up. The other three are engaging in a three-way fight over Irma's affections, which is only broken up when Splinter intervenes. Donatello finds the remains of the love potion in the pizzas, and starts working on an antidote.

On the way to the surface, Rocksteady reveals that he stole a slice of pizza from the pizzeria, since he doesn't believe the potion will affect him. But when they see April, Rocksteady immediately is smitten by her and carries her off into the abandoned submarine. She manages to trick Rocksteady into bringing her Turtlecom to her.

Donatello has just finished mixing the antidote for the love potion, and puts it on a pizza, but soon discovers that the other Turtles are too lovestruck to be hungry. Splinter has the bright idea of saying that Irma made it, which causes all three to immediately devour it. They immediately come back to their senses.

At the nuclear sub, Michelangelo and Raphael dive under it to stop the linkage between the sub and the Technodrome, while Leonardo and Donatello rush in to save April. Bebop fires a missile at them from their escape craft, but accidentally turns it around at their own craft, forcing Rocksteady, Bebop and April to bail out. Rocksteady starts to recover from the love potion, and Michelangelo and Raphael rescue April from drowning.

Shredder and Krang are exulting about the newly-full storage battery when a flood of water comes down the module tube, and Rocksteady and Bebop's module hurtles straight into the battery. The lights go out again.

On the docks, Irma shows up in a wedding dress, declaring that she's going to marry whichever of her suitors shows up first. The three Turtles admit that _they_ were the suitors, and Irma runs off sobbing.

05MEMORABLE QUOTES

Bebop: Now I get it. We are going to wait until the Turtles come to rescue her, and then we're gonna trash em, right? Rocksteady (growls) Wrong, hogbreath! This sub is going to be our own personal love boat. Me and her is going to sail away on oceans o'love! April: Oh YUCK!

06NOTES & GOOFS

  • Krang was voiced by Townsend Coleman (who also voiced Michelangelo) in this episode instead of Pat Fraley.
  • When the Turtles (except Donatello) felt the effects of the love potion, Leonardo's voice and Michelangelo's voice switched places.
  • When Bebop released a missile towards the submarine, Leonardo's voice and Donatello's voice switched places.
  • At the beginning, when Krang sneezed, his body sneezed in Krang's voice, but Krang's Android Body doesn't have a voice (or at least not one that sounds like Krang).
  • Rocksteady was missing his right nostril when in the second and last close-up shots in the scene after Irma received her gifts.
