01PLOT

The episode starts with turtles standing on a rooftop. There Leo is still searching for Karai. Raph says it is pointless to search for her and Donnie agrees with him because he hasn't found a cure for Karai. Leo says that Donnie should have understood him better. Then Mikey says that Leo has feelings for Karai similar to Donnie's feelings for April and starts teasing Donnie for his crush on April. After that he states that he will never have a crush for a girl because he is dedicated in ninja-ing. Then Raph starts throwing water to Mikey with a hose and the four of them are having fun. While they are playing a light appears in the sky and something like a door opens. Then a girl in a strange outfit appears.

When she is about fall on the roof Mikey runs to catch her. After that he asks her if she is alright but when he looks at her he sees a light around her implying that he fell in love. The girl is excited because she finally met the legendary hero turtles. The turtles were confused about this. She explains that she’s Renet Tilley. She explains that she's from the future in which the turtles will become legendary warriors for saving the world multiple times. Donnie is skeptical, then excited, but that feeling quickly fades when Renet reveals that they will defeat evil sorcerer named Savanti Romero who wants to control all of time and space. Suddenly Savanti arrives the same way as Renet did, trying to steal the scepter that was in her hand While the Turtles’ frontal assault fails, Renet is able to send him into the past. Donnie demands an explanation. Renet explains that she works as an Assistant for a time master named Lord Simultaneous, who has created the time scepter: a piece of tech so powerful in can control time and even reshape reality. One day, Savanti tries to steal the scepter, but Renent stole it and planned on luring Romero to the site of his historical defeat by the Turtles. Unfortunately, she’s messed that part of history by banishing him herself. When Lord Simultaneous comes looking for Renet, she quickly head into the past to hunt down Savanti, followed by Mikey and (eventually) his brothers.

04TRIVIA

  • The title is a reference to the game _Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time_, as well as to the IDW arc of same name.
  • Renet's voice actress, Ashley Johnson is known for playing the love interest to characters voiced by Greg Cipes.
  • Terra from _Teen Titans_.
  • Jinmay from _Super Robot Monkey Team Hyper Force Go!_
  • Gwen Tennyson from the _Ben 10_ series.
  • Mikey's says "It's the elf ears. Chicks dig'em." was a reference to Cipes and Johnson's roles in the _Teen Titans_ animated series. As in the episode titled "Betrayal" Beast Boy says something very similar to Terra: "It was the pointy ears wasn't it? Ladies love the pointy ears."
  • Renet stated that meeting the turtles is more exciting than meeting Billy the Kid, Genghis Khan, or Socrates. Those historical characters are three of the people Bill and Ted met in the 1989 film _Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure_.[[1]](#cite_note-1)
  • The dead warriors resurrected by Savanti are reminiscent from the skeleton warriors from the 1963 film _Jason and the Argonauts_.
  • These versions of Renet and Lord Simultaneous don't come from another dimension like in all previous incarnations, but from the future.
  • The knights named in the credits - Sir Paul, Sir George, and Sir John - are named after members of the British band _The Beatles_ (Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and John Lennon).
  • This version of Savanti is not a demon like its previous counterparts, but a mutant from the future.
  • This time, the scepter is not a magical relic but a piece of tech so advanced it can not only control time, it can bend reality itself.
  • When sent back into medieval England, the turtles find signs giving directions to Camelot, Avalon and Savanti's tower, there named Tower of the Demon
  • Camelot is a castle and court associated with the legendary King Arthur. Absent in the early Arthurian material, Camelot first appeared in 12th-century French romances and, after the Lancelot-Grail cycle, eventually came to be described as the fantastic capital of Arthur's realm and a symbol of the Arthurian world. The stories locate it somewhere in Great Britain and sometimes associate it with real cities, though more usually its precise location is not revealed. Most scholars regard it as being entirely fictional, its geography being perfect for romance writers; Arthurian scholar Norris J. Lacy commented that "Camelot, located no where in particular, can be anywhere". Nevertheless arguments about the location of the "real Camelot" have occurred since the 15th century and continue to rage today in popular works and for tourism purposes.
  • Avalon is a legendary island featured in the Arthurian legend. It first appears in Geoffrey of Monmouth's 1136 pseudo-historical account Historia Regum Britanniae ("The History of the Kings of Britain") as the place where King Arthur's sword Excalibur was forged and later where Arthur was taken to recover from his wounds after the Battle of Camlann. Avalon was associated from an early date with mystical practices and people such as Morgan Le Fay.
  • The Time Doors and Lord Simultaneous' floating head are references to the 1981 film _Time Bandits_, by Terry Gilliam.
  • When Renet appears, Mikey called her Amazonian Princess and Wonder Warrior. It might be a reference to DC Comics character Wonder Woman.
