01PLOT

As the story opens, the Turtles attempt to sneak up on Splinter as part of a training exercise, only to find that they were attacking a mirror.

Rocksteady and Bebop break into Irma's apartment to kidnap her, despite her protestations that she has a date. At their hideout, Shredder exposes her to a robot that takes on her appearance, and sets out to "zap Turtles" - which the robot does rather indiscriminately.

April quickly figures out who is responsible for Irma vanishing, due to the shape of the holes in Irma's wall. The Turtles deduce from a piece of seaweed that Shredder is hiding in the waterfront district, and begin searching the area for their enemy.

The robot appears at Channel 6 and proceeds to be hyper-efficient in all things, even as it disposes of Irma's arrogant date. The real Irma is being forced to cook for Rocksteady and Bebop, though her clumsiness makes her a hazard for her captors.

April witnesses the Irma robot reacting to the word "turtle", and figures out that it's not really her friend.

Fortunately, the Turtles spot Rocksteady and Bebop carrying Chinese takeout back to their hideout. The Turtles infiltrate the place and engage Shredder, Rocksteady and Bebop in a fight, but the villains manage to get away, leaving Irma behind.

Krang orders the Turtle Terminator to intercept and destroy the Turtles, just as the Turtles drive up. April gives them a refuge in her news van, and the robot uses a magnetic ray to keep them from being able to escape. They head for an abandoned amusement park to avoid human casualties, and April and Irma take off to hide.

Donatello's only idea is to give it more targets than it can handle, which would burn it out. After Irma makes the mistake of saying "turtles" in front of the robot, the turtles engage the android and lure it into a hall of mirrors. Krang's protests falls on deaf ears and the robot overloads and burns out.

Donatello reprograms the robot and sends it back to the Technodrome, programmed to "zap" Krang, Shredder and the mutants.

05NOTES & GOOFS

  • Thom Pinto voices Raphael for the last time.
  • Bebop and Rocksteady appreciate Chinese take-out, as previously seen in "The Cat Woman from Channel Six", bringing back four meals to their water-district hideout for themselves, Shredder, and Irma.
  • In a previous episode, "Four Musketurtles", Irma is able to fully recognize Bebop and Rocksteady by name. However, when the mutants break into her apartment in this story, she says "poor man, or mutant", implying she had not seen them before.
  • When Irma apologized to Shredder for stepping on his foot a freeze-frame shot of her and Rocksteady was shown instead of her reaction, this error would happen again after the Turtles fight when Shredder got the paint can stuck to his head a shot of him exiting the Transport Module was shown instead of Bebop and Rocksteady loading him inside.
  • When April tells Leonardo on the turtlecom that Irma has been replaced by a robot, Raphael is seen sitting next to Leonardo, but a shot later, Michelangelo is seen sitting next to Leonardo, but changes back to Raphael when Leonardo says they'll check it out.
  • After Shredder exited the Module with the paint can on his head, Krang is seen with white corneas.
  • When Bebop and Rocksteady pulled the paint can off Shredder's head there was no paint seen on his helmet, but there was then paint dripping off his helmet and mask when he fell to the floor and spoke to Krang.
  • April witnesses the robot reacting to the word "turtle" by shooting lasers out of its eyes, and a few seconds later she loudly says the word "turtles" without harm.
  • When Vernon and another character are zapped by the robot, Vernon speaks with the other man's voice.
  • When Donatello knocks the Chinese take-out at Shredder, Bebop, and Rocksteady, the next shot shows a paint can which fell on Shredder's face included with no explanation.
  • When the paint can fell on Shredder's face, no paint was initially seen. It would only be correctly seen during his, Bebop and Rocksteady's escape to the Transport Module and later at the Technodrome when Bebop and Rocksteady pull Shredder free from it.
  • When Irma is looking for a washcloth, she walks over to oil barrels with nothing behind her. However, when Leonardo tells her to be quiet, she stumbles backwards into paint cans that weren't there a second ago.
